On the eve of trips

So many fun things to do before a trip:

  • laundry
  • house cleaning
  • buy travel body wash
  • change your voicemail to “out of office”
  • check in for your flight (B group = big thumbs down)
  • pack your huge purse full of too many snacks for a one-hour flight
  • update travel iPod playlist
  • charge EVERYTHING

We’re going to Vegas tomorrow, which we do quite often considering its close proximity to San Diego, relatively low price, and the fact that some of our good friends and family live there, but I’m excited because we’re staying at The Plaza hotel.  The Plaza was recently remodeled, and I hear it’s now modern and quite gorgeous with good restaurants.  I hope to find it to be the revamped gem on Freemont Street.  This marks the start of what I call “travel season” – the thing that happens right after football season ends (also called “zoo season” in The Vejar Household), and we kick off the multitude of holiday weekends upon us by giving our attention to scheduling, planning, and strategizing to maximize our traveling time for the rest of the year.  Very exciting stuff!
